Maya Malachowski Bajak is a Peruvian American artist based in Western Massachusetts. A multi-disciplinary artist with a background in printmaking, her work is rooted in the language of architecture and construction. Her etchings, sculptures and drawings play with the forms in these disciplines while lingering on questions of the social forces created within our everyday built environment.
Maya holds an MFA in Printmaking from Tyler School of Art and a BA in Latin American Studies & Art from Oberlin College. She has exhibited nationally and internationally, and her work can be found in the permanent collections at Yale University, The New York Public Library, UMASS Museum of Contemporary Art and elsewhere.
